I wear a mask

I wear a mask like Peter Parker does —
A hero to the people that I love
But they can't recognize me with this veil
To them I'm just a random faceless male
Who runs around in tights and boots and gloves.

A knight in shiny armor from above
Is what comes to their heads when I'm thought of
But little did they know that everyday:
I wear a mask.

I wear a mask to cover up the bugs —
The glitches in the mind program I run
Remember, just like most heroes who save,
A robber also covers up his face
And steals, even from the people that he loves —
I wear a mask.
